FAQs
I consider it an absolute privilege whenever clients choose to allow me to lend my pen to their special occasions. I want to make the process as simple and stress-free as possible for those who elect to work with me. So I’ve gathered together this list of frequently asked questions in hopes that I might be able to anticipate some of the questions you might have as you go about your decision making process. If your question is not answered here, please don’t hesitate to email me directly at onenineletteringco@gmail.com.
What is the booking process?
To get started in the process, you’ll book a consultation with me to discuss your project. I will put together a quote after our call for your review. To book your project with me, I require a 50% non-refundable retainer.
What is the timeline?
That may vary depending on the amount of work involved in any given project. Please contact me to see if I have availability during your desired timeframe. For example, generally I require two to three weeks to complete a set of 100 outer envelopes. Generally I require 5-7 business days to write out Day Of materials for clients. Please be mindful that the timing estimates may vary however depending on the amount of work required for your specific project.
What is the design process?
When booking your consultation, you’ll complete a questionnaire so I can gather all of the important details for your project. I love when clients add their Pinterest board so that I can see all of the beautiful inspiration that you are using for this project. After I have this, I will create sketches for you that will give you an image into what your final product will look like. This helps me ensure that I am creating what you want, making sure we’re on the same page.
In what format should we send you our seating card list?
Each client will receive a link to their project folder after booking. For name-and-seating assignment escort cards, the client will create a spreadsheet and add it to the folder. Please put the name of the guest in a single cell in Column A and the seating assignment adjacent in Column B. This will help us be certain what exactly is to go on each card.
For name-only place cards, you will also create a spreadsheet. Please put each name in a single cell in Column A, just as you wish each to read.
As with envelope addressing, we will write everything out exactly as you have it in your spreadsheet, so please be sure to proof your list prior to sending so that every name is spelled correctly. Thanks!
What is the protocol for making revisions?
Design + Drafting is the phase where you get to see your project come to life! We will be in contact frequently during this part of the process, where I’ll be updating you with drafts of the design. During this phase, you will have 3 free rounds of revisions, which allow you to make adjustments and specific changes to the design. Revisions beyond the 3 free can still be made, but will be charged on a per-revision basis.
Do you offer computer-generated calligraphy?
All of our calligraphy is created by hand. At One Nine, we offer a wide range of lettering styles, ranging from classic and elegant to modern and fun. However, for an additional fee, we do offer computer-generated calligraphy available in png, jpg, and pdf formats.
